Christina Applegate is seeing one of her childhood dreams come true as the 47-year-old Dead To Me actress will get a star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame in 2020. A child actress, Christina Applegate was born on November 25, 1971. In 1981, she saw her career take off when she appeared on the television series Father Murphy and appeared in two movies: Beatlemania and Jaws of Satan. Demand was high for roles that Christina ultimately landed and she quickly became one of the most prolific child actresses throughout the eighties acting in both television series and starring in movies.
In her early career, Christina Applegate appeared on television series such as Charles in Charge, Washington, Silver Spoons, Still the Beaver, Family Ties, 21 Jump Street, Top of the Heap, and Pauly before landing the role as Kelly Bundy on the Golden-Globe nominated and award-winning show Married With Children. Christina Applegate starred in the role throughout the series’ 10-year run and followed Married With Children with the lead role in the series Jesse.
Christina left the following statement on her official Twitter account describing her excitement over getting her own star.
In addition to Christina Applegate’s impressive television history, she found time to film movies throughout the nineties. In 1990, she was in the movie Streets, but it wasn’t until 1991 that Christina Applegate showed that she could fill a movie theater. Starring in the movie Don’t Tell Mom The Babysitter’s Dead, Christina Applegate landed the role of Swell and the movie became a cult classic. Twenty-eight years later the movie is still favorited by teens who identify with the coming-of-age issues featured in the movie’s plot.
